Read more 11:00am Facing Fear CEB Class @ Hubert St $23.00 Facing Fear : Meditation & Scientific Analysis of Emotion Five Week Course – Saturdays 11am to 12pm @ Hubert St – with Jude, Rob & guest speakers Starts Saturday 10 October 2020 Fear triggers when we feel threatened but also reveals where we feel safe. As growth tends to happen on the edges of safety this is an important signal to listen to. Rather than seeing fear as bad and trying to get rid of it we can learn to recognise the way it shows up in the face and the body and work with what the feelings are telling us. With this approach of emotional acceptance we are in a place to face fear and avoid the mistakes of having either too little or too much so that we can wield the energy of fear with greater balance. This opens us to having the ability to work with the full range of our emotional experience (not only the positive ones) for a more rounded life. Over the 5 weeks we will explore the wisdom of contemplative meditation practices and emotional research to learn how to practice facing fear. This session forms part of the CEB course, a 42 hour course, which will be offered in blocks throughout the year. About CEB: The Cultivating Emotional Balance Training emerged from the Destructive Emotions dialogue between behavioural scientists and the Dalai Lama, Buddhist monks, and scholars at the Mind and Life Institute in Dharamsala, India, in March of 2000. At the culmination of this meeting the Dalai Lama requested that the important ideas raised in these sessions, specifically how to manage the everyday obstacles of our destructive emotions, be turned into an accessible training.
