6:15pm Continuing Beginners Class – Zoom

For those new to yoga or those coming back to your yoga practice, this class will introduce you to a sequence of postures (asanas) and give you an understanding of the foundations of hatha yoga practice.

Each class will focus on strength building postures and gentle stretching, as you are guided through the yoga postures (asana), breathing techniques (pranayama) and meditations.  The aim is that you body will have more freedom and less tightness, and your mind will be more clear and calm.

What you will learn/ experience:

  • The foundational postures of hatha yoga
  • Instructions on how to bring safe and correct alignment and engagement in the postures
  • Guidance though breathing techniques and how to link those with the movements
  • Foundational meditations and relaxations

Beginners Foundation Course – Hatha Yoga – starts 11 Feb 2021

Five week course – Thursdays 6:15 – 7:15pm @ Hubert St – with Rob, $90

Starts Thursday 11 February 2021

In this five week term we will build a yoga practice from the ground up – starting with the load bearing parts of the body (the feet and the hands) before moving on to other body parts.  The aim is to get the body moving with more freedom – using the postures of yoga and the principles of Function Range Systems to clean up the mechanics of movement.

What you will learn/ experience:

  • The foundations for a safe practice
  • Exercises to increase ease of movement in the hips, shoulders and spine
  • A short sequence to effectively maintain the body and prepare for any activity
  • Basic breath work and integration of this into a movement practice

Beginners Hatha Yoga Course – starts 8 Feb

For those new to yoga or continuing on from the previous course, this course will introduce you to a sequence of postures (asanas) and give you an understanding of the foundations of hatha yoga practice.

This course will focus on strength building postures and gentle stretching, as you are guided through the yoga postures (asana), breathing techniques (pranayama) and meditations.  The aim is that you body will have more freedom and less tightness, and your mind will be more clear and calm.
